Margaret Harvie

Margaret is a Principal of PlanCom Consulting. She brings to this consultancy and to the training 20 years of experience in planning for the effective engagement of communities in Australia.  In the last 12 years she has worked on major infrastructure projects and most recently was on the management team for an Alliance of companies constructing sewerage systems across Sydney. She has managed teams of community engagement consultants in three of the major multi-disciplinary consultancies. Her expertise is in the establishment and implementation of community engagement plans and systems. Margaret has worked in employment, training and youth affairs and has undertaken projects in the USA, Japan, China and Malaysia. She holds a Planning Degree from the University of South Australia.



Dr Robert Nurick

Robert has worked in the field of community development for the last 20 years. He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Environmental Studies at the University of New South Wales, responsible for coordinating the Masters Programme in Environmental Management.

Before taking up the position at UNSW in Australia, Robert set up a not-for-profit company in the UK, training professionals and community members in public participation. The focus of this work has been to advocate for the inclusion of under-represented individuals and groups within society, in decision-making processes that directly impact on their lives. Examples of this work cross many sectors, from environment, community cohesion, community safety, to education, children and young people, in the UK, sub-Saharan Africa, South and South-East Asia and Central America.

Stephani Roy McCallum

Stephani is a Senior Partner of Dialogue Partners Inc., a co-founder of the Canadian Institute for Public Engagement, and is President of the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) for 2008.  She is a certified IAP2 trainer and boasts an impressive expanse of consultation and facilitation experience in a variety of diverse settings, on a wide range of controversial subjects. Stephani is an IAF Certified Professional Facilitator and holds certificates in public policy moderation, community development, and facilitated planning. Stephani returns to Australia to offer Dialogue Partners course in Group Facilitation following a very successful session in July 2007 when the Dialogue Partners Calming Controversy and Conflict in Public Involvement was offered.
